DAY 1:- Nairobi City- On arrival at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by African Discoveries representative and transferred Safari Park Hotel located 12 kilometers from the City center where you are booked on dinner, bed and breakfast. Reception, introductions, program briefing. Overnight at your Hotel. Lunch, dinnere and overnight at Park HotelDay 2: – Mt. Kenya National Park- After breakfast continue to Mt. Kenya National Park for mountain ecology arriving in good time for lunch at Mountain Lodge Tree Hotel. The lodge is situated deep in the forest where you will later enjoy a guided nature walk with the area naturalist briefing you on what you need to know. Throughout the day and night forest animals visit the waterhole and saltlick, to ensure you many exciting moments.  Mt. Kenya consists of three principal zones; the rocky peak area, with its cloak of glaciers and snowfields; the alpine zone with distinctive giant vegetation; and the vast gentle slopes drenched in mountain forest and bamboo jungle.  Due to its unique vegetation UNESCO has declared Mount Kenya a biosphere reserve.  Most visitors are content with marveling at the mountains beauty from a distance at the comfort of their lodge. Day 3 – Samburu National Reserve- Depart and drive across the Equator Northwards to Samburu National Reserve for savanna ecology and game viewing. Upon arrival Samburu Cultural dancers will entertain you and you will be able to talk to them and learn a little bit about their culture. After lunch and relaxation you will enjoy an evening game drive. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Bed at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 4- Samburu National Reserve- Enjoy a full day in this wildlife paradise with an early morning and late afternoon game watching at Samburu National reserve. The area around the life giving Uaso Nyiro River is home to the rare and beautiful species of Northern Kenya such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk, gazelle and the Somali ostrich. Elephant, buffalo, lion leopard, and other game are also abundant.  *Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Bed at Samburu Serena Lodge.

Day 5 – Lake Nakuru- In the morning continue to your lodge situated on the shores of Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru, an alkaline lake on the bed of the Great Rift Valley, has earned its fame as the home of the greatest bird spectacle in the world – a myriad of more than a million pink flamingos, which seasonally use its water to feed on the abundant algae which thrive in its warm waters. Lake Nakuru has a great deal to offer beside its magnificent bird life. Here you will also find lions, leopards, buffaloes, and other Savannah and forest game, which make game viewing worth while. After lunch and siesta, enjoy an afternoon of game watching. *Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Bed at your Lake Nakuru Lion Hill Lodge.

Day 6 – Masai Mara National Reserve- Continue across the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth, to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve for another savannah ecology and wildlife. You will spend two days in this nature’s paradise amongst the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, buffalo, elephant, gazelle and many others. You will encounter prides of lion resting in the shade of the acacia trees or lying low in the grass in wait for their next prey. There is a good chance of spotting the cheetah and if you are lucky, – the shy leopard.  *Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Bed at Keekorok Lodge or Mara Serena Lodge or similar.

Day 7 –Masai Mara- Early morning and late afternoon game viewing with lunch and siesta at the lodge. By nightfall it is time for a refreshing drink before dinner.

Day 8:-Lake Naivasha- After breakfast depart for Lake Naivasha early in the morning, one of the gems in a necklace of Rift Valley Lakes. Lake Naivasha is famous for its remarkable variety of bird life and its hippo colonies. You will take a boat ride to Crescent Island, one of the few places in Africa where you can wonder on foot among zebra, wildebeest, gazelle and giraffe. Hells Gate National Park in Naivasha is famous for its birds of prey, unique flora that thrives on volcanic soil, gorges, cliffs, caves and towers. The setting is one of intense, recent volcanic activity where hot springs, steam jets and fumaroles are common. All meals and overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club

Day 9:-Amboseli- After your morning breakfast you will depart Naivasha and proceed to Amboseli via Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Amboseli National Park located at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro lies some 240-km (149 miles) Southeast of Nairobi.  The snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro rising above a saucer of clouds, dominates every aspect of Amboseli, and forms a backdrop to an impressive display of wildlife with its population of lion, elephant, leopard, cheetah, buffalo and other Savannah game. A photographer’s paradise. Afternoon game viewing. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Day 10:-Amboseli- Full day in Amboseli National Park with morning and afternoon game viewing. All meals and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.

Day 11:–Nairobi to Mombasa- After breakfast, drive to Nairobi and transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Mombasa Serena Beach booked on half board. Lunch:  Venue to be decided. Afternoon: At leisure at Serena Beach hotel. Diner & Overnight: Serena Beach Hotel

Day 12 –Mombasa- Morning: Talks on Swahili Culture and Coastal archaeology followed by a guided tour of coastal archaeological sites including Fort Jesus Museum. Lunch:   Venue to be decided. Afternoon: Guided tour of Ngomongo Cultural Village. Diner & Overnight: Serena Beach Hotel

Day 13:- Mombasa- You will be picked from your hotel at around 6.00 a.m to Shimoni for a full day Dhow trip to spot the dolphins. It is in their coral garden where you will snorkel and marvel at the prolific marine life as you leisurely sail in tranquil silence listening out for the dolphin whistles. This will also include traditional lunch, unlimited sodas, beer, mineral water and wine, tea, coffee and doughnuts and snorkeling equipment. Lunch: Served on the dhow. Dinner & Overnight:  Serena Beach Hotel

Day 14: –Malindi- Transfer to the airport and to catch your Malindi bound flight. On arrival, transfer to Eden Roc Hotel. Take a guided tour of Malindi town and the Gede ruins with talks on Swahili culture and coastal archaeology. Lunch: Venue to be decided. Afternoon: Take an excursion to Watamu Marine Park with fascinating coral reefs, which are home to over 140 species of hard and soft corals. The reef plays a central role as a biodiversity stronghold as it provides ideal breeding grounds for fish and other marine life. Dinner & Overnight: Eden Roc Hotel
Day 15: – Malindi – All day at leisure in Malind- Bed, breakfast and dinner at Eden Roc Hotel.

Day 16- Nairobi- After breakfast you will be picked from the hotel and transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Nairobi where you will connect with your outbound flight back home, or you will be met by African Discoveries representative at JKIA and transferred Safari Park Hotel located 12 kilometers from the City center where you are booked on dinner, bed and breakfast. Reception, introductions, program briefing. Overnight at your Hotel. Lunch, Dinner and overnight: Safari Park Hotel

DAY 17:-Nairobi City- Morning- Orientation followed by lectures on Archaeology, Human Evolution, Insects and Ecology at National Museums of Kenya. This will be followed by guided tour of National Museums Galleries, Botanic Gardens and the Snake Park. Lunch: Venue to be decided. Afternoon:   Guided tour of Archaeology, Paleontology, Invertebrate Zoology and Osteology followed by City tour that will take you to Parliament buildings, bomb blast site where former American Embassy was located before 1998 bombing. Dinner: Venue to be decided. Overnight: Safari park Hotel

Day 18:-Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site and Lake Magadi- Morning: Guided tour of the famous Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site and Maasai Community Peace Museum in the Great Rift Valley. Talk on the Maasai. Lunch: Picnic lunch at Olorgesailie. Afternoon: Depart Olorgesailie for Lake Magadi in the Great Rift Valley, visit with Maasai families; drive back to Nairobi. Dinner: Venue to be decided. Overnight: Safari Park Hotel

DAY 19:-Nairobi City- Morning- Lecture on Kenyan Cultures and Education (2 hours each). Lunch: Venue to be decided. Afternoon: After lunch, take a guided tour of Kazuri beads followed by a visit to Bomas of Kenya where you will be entertained by cultural dancers from various communities living in Kenya. Visit the bomas village where various cultures are represented. Dinner: Venue to be decided. Overnight: Safari Park Hotel

Day 20:-Nairobi City- Morning: Lectures on Kenyan Cultures and Education Lunch: Venue to be decided ImageAfternoon: Guided tour   of Karen Blixen Museum and have the opportunity to experience the former residence of the world famous Danish writer, Karen Blixen (of the Out of Africa fame) and to enjoy the spectacular view of Ngong Hills from the beautiful gardens of the Museum. Also visit Giraffe Center where you will come face to face with the tallest mammal on earth. The visit will afford you the opportunity to feed the giraffes with your bare hands!  Dinner: Venue to be decided. Overnight: Safari Park Hotel

DAY 21:- Olympic Primary School – Kibera slums- Morning: Lectures on Kenyan Cultures and Education Lunch: Venue to be decided. Afternoon: After lunch visit Olympic Primary School- One of the Primary Schools within Urban Center yet inside the Kibera slams with academic excellence equivalent to or better than some high cost Schools. You will have half day to interact with the teachers and students. Dinner: Venue to be decided. Overnight: Safari Park Hotel

Day 22: –  (KIBERA COMMUNITY SELF- HELP PROGRAM (KICOSHEP)- Morning: Lecture on HIV/Aids (1 hour) followed by a visit to Kibera Community Self Help Program (KICOSHEP) right inside Kibera Slums. This is a self Help community program that takes care of destitute children who are suffering from HIV/ Aids and whose parents have died of HIV/Aids. Lunch: Venue to be decided. Afternoon: After lunch drive to the Ostrich Farm in Kajiado District. Spend the rest of the afternoon in various activities that will include ostrich riding and tour of the farm. At 5:00 p.m. proceed to your hotel in Nairobi. Dinner:  Venue to be decided. Overnight: Safari Park Hotel

DAY 23:- Ministry of Environment & Natural Resources, Federation of Women Lawyers and Maendeleo Ya Wanawake – Image Morning:  Seek audience with the world’s renounced environmentalist and Nobel Price innner Professor Wangari Mathai to talk on environment issues followed by a tree planting exercise at Karura Forest within Nairobi.  Lunch: Venue to be decided. Afternoon:  After lunch proceed to (Federation of Women Lawyers) and visit with the chairlady to talk on feminine issues and other related issues affecting African Women. Proceed to Maondeleo Ya Wanawake Headquarters and visit with the Chairperson to further talk on the multiple roles of the African Woman. Dinner: Venue to be decided. Overnight:  Safari Park Hotel

DAY 24:-Departure- You will be transferred to the airport for your outbound flight back home depending on your flight departure time.
