Kenyan people are very keen in maintaining their culture and heritage even though civilization has its roots strewn deep down. We have a total of 42 dialects and each one tribe has its own identity. Among them include the Kamba, Kikuyu, Embu, Meru, Luo, Luhya, Maasai, Borana, Kisii, Turgen, Miji Kenda, Jemps, Kalenjins to name just a few. These differences are in the way they build their homes, the food they eat, the way they dress, the way they celebrate their rites of passage, rituals, superstitions,, behavior towards different age groups, their community life as well as their economic activities.  These cultural groups are besides religion. For example a Maasai can be a Christian  as well as a nomad. Their way of dressing is a piece of cloth wrapped around them and it is usually accompanied with a club for the male and numerous colorful beaded ornaments adorned by both the male and female.
ImageAfrican Discoveries will take you around the country visiting each and every major community as you experience first hand their way of life. National Museums also serve as an educational tool. There will be brief lectures on each group you meet which will make you understand them better. Nairobi City is quite cosmopolitan but each person has a heritage he is proud of. We also have a makeshift village known as the Bomas of Kenya where all communities have set up a village of their authenticity for you to visit in one afternoon. Day 1-City Tour
After breakfast there will be a short lecture by one of our University Lecturer on Kenyan history and progressive cultures. After that take a City Tour that will include all the major sites of interest in our City,Nairobi, such as Parliament Buildings, Kenyatta International Conference Center, 1998 Bomb Blast  Historical Site and the City Market, after Lunch at the Karen Blixen Museum. proceed to Nairobi National Museum and the famous Snake Park. Dinner and overnight at Safari Park Hotel

Day 2- Craft Excursions
After late breakfast proceed to Utamaduni Craft Center- a cultural/ traditional center where various cultures are represented in form of artifacts. Drive further on to the Kazuri Beads factory and marvel at the evolution of our beautiful jewelry from clay representing various cultures in Kenya. Proceed to Bomas of Kenya and enjoy Kenya’s sumptuous traditional meals prepared and served in a traditional setting as you enjoy traditional African song and Dance. The dancing covers events occurring in the lives of different tribes. Authentic Bomas or villages can also be found here, representing the country’s 16 ethnic groups: an enlightening experience!  Later in the evening proceed to the Carnivore Restaurant and sample different game meat amid live entertainment. Overnight at the Safari Park Hotel.

Day 3-Riuki Cultural Center
Morning departure from the hotel and drive 30Kms from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi City to the rich agricultural region of coffee in Kiambu District. Some of the cultural activities included are
•    A guided tour of the village
•    Traditional dances and a lecture on traditional lifestyle
•    Cleansing ceremonies and tasting of traditional food and drinks
Lunch at the center. Drive back to the city as you see vast plantations of tea and coffee estates. Bed and breakfast at the Safari Park Hotel.

Day 4-Lake Nakuru
Lake Nakuru lies in the volcanic strewn Rift Valley. One of the chain of 8 Lakes which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia. The 160-Km drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of the Rift Valley. Lunch is served in the park and is followed by a game drive. Dinner and accommodation at Sarova Lion Hill.

Day 5- Masai Mara
A cultural expedition cannot be complete without visiting our famous Maasai community see their nomadic way of life.. After breakfast drive south along the floor of the Great Rift Valley, the longest rift in the crust of the earth to the famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Along the way you will stop at various Manyattas {Masai homesteads} and see how the Maasai Community live.Their way of life, dressing and the food they eat.
Its advisable to ask before you take pictures and a small token will be appreciated; give directly to them. Arrive in time for a bush lunch served just near the Mara Bridge. Afternoon spent at leisure with late afternoon gamedrives. Dinner and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 5- Masai Mara
Another full day in Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives in search of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, rhino, buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and other terrestrial game. All meals and overnight at Mara Serena Lodge.

Day 6- Nairobi
After breakfast drive to Nairobi for your outbound flight.
